BILL FOR NIGEC: ANOTHER LEGISLATIVE STUPIDITY
The introduction of a Senate bill for creation of another commission that will be responsible for conduct of Local Government elections to be called National Independent Local Government Electoral Commission (NIGEC) is unnecessary and waste of public resources.
INEC is already established so why can't they amend the INEC law to include Local Government Elections rather than creating a new commission that will be spread in the 36 states and Abuja.
Too many duplication of government offices in Nigeria. They should prone size of Government departments and agencies by checking the many duplication of functions.
It is stupidity to create a new Electoral Commission for local government when there is INEC. What kind of lawmakers do we have?
